take yourself on a date

First and foremost I am elated to say that I am going to do my best to try and keep up with this darn blog! I have forgotten how much relief I find when I am writing what is on my heart// mind. Sometimes I just get really discouraged that no one is reading// no one relates to what I am writing about. Hopefully that is not the case. I am really excited about the changes I made to the layout of the blog. I felt as if Some Blonde's Thoughts needed a change that keeps up with the changes that have happened// continue to happen everyday.

a lesson i've learned:

When you're in a relationship with someone for so long you kind of lose sight of what it was like to do things alone. Since in the last year I have had the opportunity of being single, I have gotten to do more of the things I love & make me happy. It has made me feel as if I am not ready to be in a relationship at all. At least for a while. I never realized how great// empowering it feels when you spend time by yourself. That's not something I want to let go of. I know that sounds super selfish and it totally is and I get that. I also understand that when you are in a relationship you can still go out to do things by yourself but you will always feel some sort of obligation to invite your boyfriend// girlfriend. I am NOT ready for that!

So for here on out until I meet someone who completely blows me away I will be in a relationship with myself. For the first time in 18 years I am going to start putting myself on a high priority list. I don't see anything wrong with that. So if I want to stay in one night instead of going out with friends, I'm going to do that. If I want to aimlessly walk around Target for two hours, I'm going to do that. Binge watch a new Netflix series? Heck yeah! I'm going to do that, too! Doesn't it just sound like a total given? Why haven't I started this before? I highly recommend you taking yourself out on a date. Go to Panera and get yourself a mango smoothie or go to a movie! Nothing can feel more satisfying then doing something you want to do.

The Fourth of March

March 4th, 2014:

Hello readers! How are you all? Hopefully you are better than I am. As I am writing this post I am suffering from a horrible stomach ache due to the fact that I ate Mcalister's for dinner. I knew when I made the decision to eat there tonight that Mcalister's chronically makes me sick. Just this time it was a lot worse than all the others. It kind of makes me feel like this...

On a brighter note things in life have been sweet. Between the lazy snow days & going shopping with Grandma things are awesome.

My dear Nana's birthday was on the 27th of February so naturally we documented dinner with the family at Malone's.

Love my Nana
My Padre!
My Madre!
Emma was feeling ill and did not want to be photographed.

Also this week the Boy's basketball team has been competing in districts. The section theme was neon so most appropriately I purchased a neon headband from the children's section of Target. I cannot seem to find the headband on their website. Bailey's is also from Target.

Love my sweet friends!!

On the way to the game I saw this sweet car. Not everyday that you are driving behind a Maserati.

Saturday night I had the opportunity to indulge in a really delicious dinner at Merrick Inn with Kendrick and his family for his Mother's birthday!

Day 19: Little Known Facts

As I am writing this post I am sitting on my parents bed and I can't help but have a small amount of writer's block. I want my posts to leave lasting impressions in my reader's minds but I haven't found one particular subject lately that is something exciting. I have been half staring at the computer screen, half watching the new episode of pretty little liars. I am too invested in this darn show. I am over here all emotional.

I really like watching kind of lame sitcoms. I watch Melissa & Joey, Reba, and The Middle more than I should. Emma is my partner in crime when it comes to these shows. No surprise there, right? When I watch these shows I cannot help but to relate to some of the characters. On Melissa & Joey I tend to see myself a lot like Lennox. She's witty and dresses cute. Maybe I would like to think I am as funny as her. Reba is one of my favorites. I have not a clue why. Maybe Reba's fiery attitude is what keeps me coming back to watch. I think by now I have seen every episode at least 5 times. I feel like my grandma with NCIS. When it comes to The Middle I think I can be a mixture of all of the characters except at different times. You have got to watch these shows. I know I make so many recommendations but I am serious on all of them! You should take my word for it.

A second little known fact about me is that I spend hours a week aimlessly roaming around Target. I hardly ever buy anything. You should probably know that Target hardly ever changes. They only get so much new merchandise every week and I promise you I have seen it all. I like to walk around dreaming of all the things that I could have in a future house. I like being imaginative like that. It's kind of an escape.

I believe that it's important that everyone has their one thing that is a go to for an escape. This idea of "little peaceful moments" came to me while I was about to die in the shower last week when I was sick. I was just laying in the shower thinking about all the great things that are taking place around me. At that moment I couldn't have felt anymore relaxed. It was a glimpse into what true bliss those kind of escapes can bring you. I like to do yoga a lot. It regenerates my body in a way that makes me feel amazing. This is another thing that can bring you one of those blissful moments. I'm hoping that all of you readers has an escape from the reality that we are all living in!

Have a fabulous Wednesday!
Love Always,
Alex

This is my purse! After months and months of eyeing it in the local Target, I finally got it as a Christmas present! So thankful that I did because I am absolutely in love with this purse!! (You can find it here with many other colors- perfect for spring)

I keep so many things in here because of the vast amount of space it offers me!

Things In Some Blonde's Thoughts Purse:
* Motrin
 * Lipgloss
* Lipstick
* Hair ties
* Agenda
* Cough Drops
* Bandaids &
* Waffle House coupons

Yes. You read that right. It does say Waffle House coupons. Hey. You never know when you are going to be going to Waffle House so it's better to always be prepared.

target.

[Isn't that the truth]

We all know that girls love Target. Always have. Always will. I cannot stand to set foot in The WalMart. I hate hate hate that place. It just gets under my skin. They may have some pretty good deals but I wont go there unless I have to. The last time I was there was 11 o'clock pm a couple months ago and I was looking for an iPhone 5 charger...of course they didnt have any. But anyways, Im addicted to Target and I have been for a long time.

Recently the Target that I go to is under going some renovations. They are finally adding fresh produce section. Maybe one day we will finally get a pharmacy. So...because of this there has been many great deals that have been going on. I mean really great!! Not just all the Valentine's Day candy 50% off. I got Sally Hansen nail strips or stickers, or whatever you want to call them for only $3.50. Now that still may sound like a lot to you but to someone who doesnt want to pay $20 for a manicure or even $7 for the strips/stickers...it was an awe moment. You can buy them from Target here and they are picked below. They come in many different patterns and they have even added french manicure looks as well as the gel strips.

[aren't those just beautiful]

Another fabulous thing I love is YOGA! or Yoda as Madea calls it...I love yoga for so many reasons. Its relaxing, it helps me sleep better and stay asleep better, and it also is fun and a great workout! You may or may not know that yoga has props. Now what in the world would you need props for? Isn't it just sitting and closing your eyes and saying 'ommmmm'. No silly, its way more than that. So I was in the market for a yoga mat but they are so expensive...well not really I just didnt want to pay $20 for a mat. And then you have to buy all the props...no bueno. So picture this...Im just cruising through Target, making my rounds...when all of a sudden...POP. I find this
[mat...strap...&...block! also a dvd with 2 led workouts]

At first I was like...no way this can't be just $30!! Oh but it was. Best $30 I have ever spent...okay maybe not the best...but pretty close to it. You can imagine my excitement.

Until next time fellow Target lovers
Xoxo God bless,
-A
