do you ever just...

Do you ever just...Go on an instagram following streak?

Yesterday I got on my must recent one. I just couldn't stop...I think  that's what you call an addiction. I started off just following fellow bloggers and women who post cute stuff. And then I moved on to the interior design part of instagram. It was like a whole new beautiful world that I just discovered for the first time. And then somehow I ended up on cats. If you know me I am completely and utterly obsessed with these four legged creatures. I'm pretty sure they are obsessed with me too because on multiple occasions they have found me when I'm in random spots; i.e. shopping on vacation, when I took my senior pictures (find those here) and I have had them just show up in my back yard. If it were up to me I would constantly live my life like so..

Gotta love me and all my parks & rec references. I promise you they will never end.

Do you ever just...Read an article about this new healthy idea and then think it will change your whole life?

WELL, I cant exactly pinpoint where I read the article but needless to say it gave reasons why you should drink water infused with fresh sliced lemons.
<Guess here what I've been drinking a whole lot of lately>

Yup. Lemon water. When I first read the article I was like oh heck no I am not about to be making what is commonly known in my family as "a poor girl's lemonade"...or at least that is what my Nana calls it. This is when you are so cheap that instead of actually ordering lemonade when you go out to a restaurant you order a water, add a lot of lemons and some sugar and then you have made your own lemonade. I always thought this might be the weirdest part about my Nana.

Potential Benefits of Lemon Water:
1. Clears up your skin
2. Helps boost your metabolism- a girl's best friend!
3. Cleaner teeth

I hope I'm not making these up...I'm sure there are some downfalls to drinking lemon water but I will just ignore those for now. Maybe eventually I'll end up drinking my Starbucks green tea. Oh well it's going to be worth the try.

Drink your lemon water people!!!!

Blog Everyday in February// Day 17

Day 17: Five Favorites

Happy President's Day! We have almost finished February! I cannot believe it! It feels like yesterday it was New Years!

My Five Favorite things right now are as follow:

1) This awesome picture of a cat edition of That's What I Call Music. I hope so much that this is real!

2) Coloring! I drew this coloring page myself and colored it! Isn't it beautiful! I miss coloring and being little so much!

3) The Fault In Our Stars! The book is amazing. I cried. If you haven't read it then you most definitely should! I cannot wait to see the movie. I can only imagine how great it is going to be! I love you Hazel Grace.

4) This faux award! I think it is just hilarious!

5) This little happy baby panda! You should be mine Mr. Panda! Come live with me!

peter cotton-tail

Happy Monday lovelies!

I may or may not be sitting on the couch snacking on all my Easter basket goodies that good ole Peter Cotton-tail brought me!

[these go down very nicely]

Dont those look delicious? They sure are.

So on another note I have been on some what of a health kick- but this break isnt helping me at all! But despite this I have cut down on the amount of processed/ fast food/ unhealthy foods the majority of the time. Its a lot easier than you think it is once you get started! Ive started to do the major grocery shopping in my house to make sure I get everything I need. Ive also stopped drinking soda, but to keep up with my carbonated habit- my love addiction for Sparkling Ice hasnt decreased in the slightest. If you havent had some, you must. and while youre at it buy yourself some white pimento cheese. Sounds kind of risky- but all worth it.

 &

In cat lady fashion Ive also taken up knitting & sewing again...I swear theres an old lady trapped in my body thats trying to get out...

^-Here are some pictures to describe me- ^

Hope these brightened up your day just as much they did mine!

Happy Monday friends!

scripture 1

Good Afternoon!
Congrats on making it this far in your day!

If you feel like me then you probably looks something like this...
[I am ready for a nap]
Okay so maybe Im not a cat...but a girl can dream cant she?
Sometimes we all struggle with making it through the day without realizing how much time is passing us by. Sometimes I feel guilty because I cant seem to get the most important things done in each day that I want to. Something I love to do is read God's word, aka the Bible.

Of course I don't know what religion you belong to or claim to belong to...or if you grew up Jewish and now you are Christian or what...but I do know that the Bible has a lot of good stories and wisdom that sometimes I find it hard to seek. With the help of some good friends lately I have been able to dive deeper into it then I ever have before. Its amazing how much it can relate to our daily lives. Even if you dont believe in God or dont agree with some of what the Bible says I still encourage you to not
a) stop reading this post
b) stop researching and learning about God
c) not reach out to find someone who is more than willing to talk to you about it
Thanks!

This verses arent in the chronological order of the books in the Bible just for reference. I am not going to post the verse in its entirety- I am just going to post the book the chapter and the verse number and the main idea of what it is about. The reading part is something you have to decide to do on your own!

2 Corinthians 5: 21 -- Sin
1 Samuel 16:7 -- Body image/ Self worth
1 Peter 3:3-4 -- Body image/ Self worth
Jeremiah 29:13 -- Seeking the Lord
Romans 5:8 -- Sinning
All of Proverbs is fantastic but Ive been recently reading books 1-10

That's all the verses I am going to post for this week! I hope you take the time out of your day to read these! They are fantastic!

More about what Bible I read:

I read the New International Version on both my phone and in hardback!
If you have a smartphone you should download the YouVersion Bible! Its amazing! You can highlight, bookmark, and write notes! It also features the verse of the day! There are many different plans (devotionals) that you can do to help you understand what you are reading or something that you are struggling with. I 100% think you will love it!

If you have any questions on anything I have written in this post (or any other post) please comment or contact me via email; ansayre1025@gmail.com!

Have a great rest of your afternoon!

My first blog post!

After a few months of debating over the topic of getting into the blog world and some days spent reading some of my favorites I have decided that I should start my own. I mean, why not? Today's day and age is all about opinions and social media.

I guess I should start with an introduction. My name is Alex and I am currently a student. I am obsessed with all things preppy and monogrammed. I like Reese Witherspoon not only for her outstanding performance in my all time favorite movie, Legally Blonde, but because of her semi-famous quote, "My sheets are monogrammed, so is my silverware and pretty much everything else I own. My rule is, if it's not moving, monogram it." I believe this to be true. Also, my identifier to a lot of people is the known fact that I have a passionate and undeniable love for almost all cats.

[see my sweet girls pictured above]

I'm a follower of Jesus and I love my YoungLife group more than they will ever know! Last summer we traveled to Asheville, North Carolina to YoungLife's Windy Gap! I learned more about Gods love for me and myself than I ever had. I'm beyond blessed for the amazing leaders and fellow classmates that pour into me! I cannot wait for this summer and the fact we get to travel to Rockbridge! I may or may not have started counting down the days.

[me and my best friends;
L-R Bailey, Taylor, Bailey, and then myself]

Another part of my life is my awesome familia! We may drive each other nuts but I don't know what I would do without them! I know I know before you even look at the picture and think it. I look just like my mom. I act just like her, too!

[la familia;
{Elizabeth, Mom: Chris, Father &
Emma, sissy} at my cousins
wedding last year]

I also have an amazing boyfriend, Kendrick, of over 3 months! He asked me out on my birthday! Isn't that the cutest thing ever? We go to separate schools and somehow he and my friends planned it so that his mom would take him out of school early and then he would sneak in at dismissal and surprise me with roses!!!! I was shocked! I'm so lucky for such a sweet guy to be in my life!

[us on New Year's Eve at my friend Maddie's party! Not the best picture of me because I was sick with strep throat at the time]

He probably will kill me for writing about him on here but oh well! It's nothing negative!

Anyways, now that I have introduced myself in my next post I'll start telling all the interesting things I run across in my daily life! Hope you enjoyed.
