lent not lint

Today marks the beginning of Lent. I am actually not Catholic but this year I have decided that I want to partake in Lent. Maybe I just need a reason for giving up mainly diet coke but I am almost positive that all soda will follow suit.

I believe that a lot of people like my friend Bailey (see below) tend to get lint and Lent confused.

One just happens to be something that is commonly found in belly buttons and on your clothes and the other is according to Bing is:

the period before Easter in Christian calendar: the period of 40 weekdays before Easter observed in some Christian churches as a period of prayer, penance, fasting, and self-denial.

Why would we get these confused? I thought that the following two pictures were appropriate.

While finding the above two I stumbled upon these somewhat funny pictures.

The Fourth of March

March 4th, 2014:

Hello readers! How are you all? Hopefully you are better than I am. As I am writing this post I am suffering from a horrible stomach ache due to the fact that I ate Mcalister's for dinner. I knew when I made the decision to eat there tonight that Mcalister's chronically makes me sick. Just this time it was a lot worse than all the others. It kind of makes me feel like this...

On a brighter note things in life have been sweet. Between the lazy snow days & going shopping with Grandma things are awesome.

My dear Nana's birthday was on the 27th of February so naturally we documented dinner with the family at Malone's.

Also this week the Boy's basketball team has been competing in districts. The section theme was neon so most appropriately I purchased a neon headband from the children's section of Target. I cannot seem to find the headband on their website. Bailey's is also from Target.

On the way to the game I saw this sweet car. Not everyday that you are driving behind a Maserati.

Saturday night I had the opportunity to indulge in a really delicious dinner at Merrick Inn with Kendrick and his family for his Mother's birthday!

Day 22: How You Fight Anxiety/ Fear/ Stress

Funny that this is the prompt. I have been extra anxious lately because I have a big exam coming up. You know...the ACT. Only the test that colleges look at to see if you are admitted. So because of the added internal pressure I am putting on myself I have been crocheting a lot. I tried to knit...it wasn't my thing. Crocheting on the other hand is amazing. I love it. It just relaxes me a lot. Although, if the weather wasn't so crappy here I would be running outside. That usually clears my head up nicely.

I really love blogging. It's for you, not for anyone else. That is why I love it so much. No one can tell you what to do or how to do it. They can make suggestions but ultimately you have the authority over everything you post.
